Sergio Bonilla Pinzón is a Colombian artist based in Paris. Working primarily in large-scale painting and drawing, his practice stages the body as a site of tension, pleasure, and rupture. His images move through desire—not as a theme, but as a force—unsettling the visibility of queer bodies and the systems that attempt to contain them. Drawing from Latin American sensibilities and the disruptive legacy of the French avant-gardes, his work resists fixed identities and stable meanings. Paint becomes excess, distortion, insistence. Figures emerge, dissolve, and reconfigure in a visual language that is visceral, irreverent, and deliberately unresolved.
